The Power of a Professional Portrait
Photography has become more accessible than ever before which can only be a good thing. It means we can capture anything at anytime. However, there is no substitute for a professionally taken portrait. Here is the only one of me from deep in the last century.

Dispell the Myth
I find that people often have a distorted view of the life of a photographer. It is time to dispell the myth and reveal that it isn't all fashion shoots and beautiful models.

Corporate/Professional Portraits
We all know it is imperative to have an impressive website showing all your products and services, but how many of us pay attention to putting ourselves on there? If you wandered into a shop, you would expect to see the shopkeeper and their enthusiasm would persuade you into a sale. New York Street Photography
Having spent a lot of time in New York over the past few years, I have created a considerable portfolio of street photography and I will be sharing these images with you periodically. I'm often asked what makes for a good documentary image. My opinion is that a picture should show you something but also ask you a question. The viewer must become a part of the process.
This and many more images can be viewed and purchased on www.philgarlington.com.

The Prime Minister David Cameron
The Prime Minister, David Cameron.
It is always an honour to photograph someone of high profile. I love all the high security and etiquette that surrounds these occasions. Here the Prime Minister was visiting a bicycle company in Lancashire called Hope. The paparazzi where understandably out in force, but I shadowed him for a couple of hours. A great experience and one I'm proud to share.
